Fabulous, wonderful, amazing, shall I continue...

We stayed a mere one day here and ate in the restaurant. However, it's a definite that we shall return at some point. It was a well scheduled visit to fit in with a return trip driving from Italy. The Auberge accommodation is quite simple, but very, very clean and comfortable. No fuss, no free toiletries, no fancy bits but nice clean white towels, sheets and bedding. Dispensers with soap and good sanitary ware - it's all you need for a night. However, the dining experience was at a whole other level. We had booked a table in advance before leaving England to ensure we were seated. They knew I was gluten free and everything went very well. Right from the word go we knew we'd made a good choice as the wine is exceptional and very low in price - the appetisers were suitable for me to eat and there was no problem about swapping things on the menu. The ladies who worked there that we came across - sorry don't have names - were all lovely. The young lady who took our order and kindly allowed me to speak in French was especially nice! There was a similar lady at breakfast too - breakfast is very good and the coffee is amazing. We were very impressed and everyone was very kind and I promised to do a review when we checked out - so this is it! Thanks again, see you at some point in the future xx

Hot night in dead zone

No doubt, the setting is nice, off the beaten path. The Auberge is renovated, clean, functional. The room was adequate for 4. We paid EUR 83 which is competitive at first site, unless you add very basic breakfast for EUR 12 per person which is not worth it. The “frozen food based cuisine” they serve is dull, uninspiring. It comes easily to EUR 30+/ person. All in all we have spent well over EUR 200 for three. No A/C. No WIFI. Too much much money for the experience and the quality.

Great new management of typical French village auberge

Unplanned stop for lunch on a hot May week day. Sat outside. Perfect service from nice waitress. Set menu was very tasty: organic tomatoes and mozzarella salad followed by perfectly cooked merlu (hake) with citrus risotto and artichokes.Good and plentiful bread. We chose a half bottle of smooth local Chautagne gamay wine to accompany. Declined dessert but enjoyed coffee with a tasty free bitter crunchy chocolate ball. €40 for 2 including tip. We were lost and din't have a map (yes, I know!) but the staff kindly gave us a free big tourist map and explained where we were in relation to other sites of interest. Well done new ownership of 6 months and good luck!

Fantastic find !!!

We called at the nearby Tourist Office who booked us in here. It didn't open up until 6.30pm, so we cycled up the VERY long hill up to the Auberge & sat & waited. The people who run it are employed by the local Community, as it is owned by them. They are from the Reunion Islands, and are really friendly. We were offered drinks & secure bike accommodation straight away. The room was a delight - modern, bright & airy with a walk-in shower. The Chinese meal we had on the terrace was an evening to remember !! A fantastic find !!

Tutto semplicemente fantastico

Qui il tempo si è fermato Posizione incantevole, su una collina che affaccia sulla valle del Rodano,un’oasi di pace…un villaggio caratteristico dove potersi RILASSARE. Struttura che offre camere accoglienti e complete di ogni comfort, ci si sente davvero a casa. Ristorante con specialità locali, piatti deliziosi e uno Chef, Ben, di una bravura e gentilezza unica, ottimamente coadiuvato dalla simpaticissima Karine. Ci torneremo sicuramente. Più che consigliato. Ah…noi viaggiavamo in 4 con due bambine piccolissime che si sono divertite a giocare all’aria aperta, senza la paura del traffico o altro. Top!
