2 beautiful days in Cuxhaven - highly recommended .....

We spent 2 nights there with our dog and were very satisfied. Friendly welcome and we got a nice room (room 6) with a large balcony + spacious bathroom on the 1st floor. The room was renovated and very clean.
The location right in the center of Cuxhaven is great... everything is within walking distance and easy to get to. There were parking spaces right in front of the hotel.
We really liked it there and would love to come back again

Not like that! No more!

We already booked a quiet double room in February 2024 and got a miserable room on the ground floor (No.9) facing the street!
Wardrobe, box and mattresses were broken! The bathroom tiny small, old, shower hose+shower head unappetizing and the shower cubicle angular + moldy!
We paid a fabulous 160€ incl. breakfast for these stays!
On the invoice sent by e-mail we were not surprised that we actually had the family room No. 5! Probably the owner could sell our room at short notice to other guests at an even more expensive price. And we cyclists were summarily transported to this “emergency room”!

Recommended

Friendly hotel staff. Room was good, big enough and bright. It was very cold to begin with, but then it warmed up nicely. Recommended. There were very slight noises from the street, but you could sleep well.

Guesthouse a short distance from the harbour

Stayed here for one night while passing through. It was on short notice. The price was the same as a hotel we stayed at while passing through. That is why the comparison was quite possible. And the day before and same price. Hence the rating. The room itself was clean and so were the bathroom facilities. The street was quiet and a short distance to the center or the harbor. But everything is very dated and cannot really keep up with the current times. Once again we slept very well, but it is more like a guesthouse from the 60s.

Reasonable price, spacious, everything works. Recommended.

Stayed here for an overnight before ferry to Helgoland. Booked two rooms for family of 5. Staff accommodated us well with neighboring rooms. At least three other parties (I think each of two people) were staying there that night. It's an older building, and could certainly hear people through wall. But that's pretty much true anywhere. Price was reasonable, but no bargain. Nothing wrong with that though. Breakfast was good, and plentiful. Rolls, jam, cheese, meat, coffee, juice. Well located between train station and ferry. Not a long walk to either. Quiet street. Bed was comfortable, and bathroom in good shape. One of our rooms had a balcony. No particular view, but it's nice to know you can go outside if you want. Staff was friendly and able to communicate in English.
