The reception was only open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. This employee was also responsible for the wellness area with swimming pool and sauna as well as the "bar", which was "open" from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cash payment was required here!!!
The restaurant that is still being advertised has been closed since the end of the Corona restrictions. Anyone who wants to eat something in the evening is forced to look elsewhere. This is definitely not a problem in Zinnowitz. However, you have to go back out the door regardless of the weather.
The rooms offer a good impression of the taste of the 90s. At second glance, all the furniture and the bathroom appear to be in need of an overhaul. There is obviously a major renovation backlog, which is why the house has changed hands several times recently. This didn't make the situation any better for the hostel and probably the staff. Only the mattresses were replaced and were very good.
Breakfast is served on bare tables without tablecloths (just a napkin in the middle) - similar to a youth hostel. However, at 4-star prices, a tablecloth is simply part of the ambience of a pleasant breakfast. The entire room seemed very cold and unfriendly. The breakfast fairy had to do just that, keeping the buffet running and clearing the tables. On Saturday, when the rooms were almost completely occupied, she couldn't make it to the buffet even with the help of the kitchen help. The dishes piled up on the tables and the holes in the display got bigger.
The only thing that was really good was the coffee. All the food (rolls, sausage, cheese...) came from the discounter they trusted. This shouldn't be so obvious at a higher level.
Due to the limited staff, the rooms are only cleaned every THREE days as scheduled. Then it was high time because of the dust flakes and hair (mainly in the bathroom). The trash can also needed to be emptied. Unfortunately, when the time finally came, it was just a matter of rough cleaning - vacuuming, emptying the trash can, folding the duvet and that's it. The room was actually only cleaned once during our week-long stay...!
The staff was very friendly and tried everything to limit the obvious deficits. However, they had no chance of bringing the feel-good factor to holiday level. We felt really ripped off during our vacation here in February 2024.
