I miss them already
Tunak resort was full of nice surprises and we fell in love with the hotel staff big time! Our first Villa #2 was huge with a large private pool and ocean views. We cheekily recommended they trim one bush to increase the infinity. Hopefully the next guests will benefit . Aircon in the bedroom worked great and the ceiling fan was a bonus. Bathroom + bathtub is luxurious with ocean views and open showers for two. Smoking outside was permitted and an ashtray provided. We never missed the lack of TV as the resort has plenty of fun things to do like the harnessed swing over the cliff, atvs, baby turtles release, sunrise and bird watching, deers, peacocks, the impossibly beautiful & rare blue viper, butterflies and restaurant + bar. We had a cool party supported with well made Lombok LIITs by the gang of what we now call our friends. Our second villa #4 had a shared true infinity pool with WOW views, V-shaped hills gap going down to the ocean, BIG waves and a sunset. Just one of a kind and unforgettable. Must mention the tasty and perfectly crafted menu, so bravo to the chef (hope the management never let them go). If swinging, eating & drinking wasn’t enough we indulged in 90min in-Villa massages while their spa is a work in progress - OMG sooooo good. Thank you AYU and SANTI with piano fingers. A must have! We immediately booked another couples massage but were told that one of the girls had a scheduled day off so imagine our surprise the next morning when both Ayu & Santi marched in carrying the heavy foldout beds and baskets full of oil - oh yeah . This resort is amazing now but will be even more amazing when they finish building another 20 villas along this pristine cliff coast-line with killer views. When it was time to leave, all our new friends including the GM gathered around and I received a souvenir TUNAK handbag & hugs from each staff member. As the transfer car was pulling away I had quite a few tears in my eyes

Paradise in Lombok
It was the best Pension we've ever made. Everything was perfect from check-in to Check-out. All the staff are lovely: receptionist, waiters, drivers, cooks, housekeeping and cleaning service, nothing to say. They meet absolutely all our requests. The food is excellent. The extraordinary view and wonderful place. If we had to choose only one place to stay it would be at their place. Room facilities and cleanliness are excellent. In addition there are many Things to do with the Pension, for example we have released baby turtles into the ocean...they also offer boat trips, etc...

This place is amazing
Everything about this place is amazing. The staff, the view, the room, the food, are all superb. They even have deer and peacocks and a turtle program where they release the hatchlings. Sadly weather was terrible before we arrived so there were no turtles to release while we were there.
It was our wedding anniversary while we were there and they not only gave us cake they also decorated our bed saying happy anniversary and gave me flowers.
The view from the room, the bed, the bath the pool and even the toilet was spectacular.
They are currently building a mini golf ⛳️ and paving the long bumpy dirt road (2kms) which they started while we were there.
Their hospitality is out of this world and we loved every minute of staying there and it was sad to leave.
It was our wedding anniversary while we were there and they not only gave us cake they also decorated our bed saying happy anniversary and gave me flowers.

Simply perfect
TUNAK Resort Lombok is an absolute gem—every aspect of our stay was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the fantastic general manager and his incredibly helpful team made sure we were taken care of in every possible way.
The private villas are stunning—spacious, beautifully designed, and completely secluded, each with its own pool and massive, luxurious bathrooms. The setting is peaceful and exclusive, making it the perfect place to unwind. The on-site restaurant is superb, serving delicious meals in a gorgeous setting.
The level of service was truly outstanding. On our last morning, the GM informed us that they had noticed one of our car tyres was a bit flat due to a nail. Without hesitation, they arranged for someone to come and pump it up so we could get to Kuta for a repair. While we waited, they let us stay in our villa long past checkout time and kept us updated via WhatsApp—an incredible gesture that highlighted their commitment to guest comfort.
Nothing was ever too much trouble at TUNAK Resort. If you're looking for a quiet, high-end retreat with world-class service, this is the place to be. Absolutely outstanding in every way!

Beautiful Escape Resort with individual quirks
- Baby turtles are raised at the Resort and kept in a tank until they are released. Unfortunately, children brought out the animals, which was not very great. Fencing the pool would be useful to protect the babies. Strangely, they were still not released during our five-day stay.
- When eating, we had concerns about whether the staff knew the difference between vegetarian and vegan. A dish declared vegan contained an egg. After clarifying our wishes, the food was prepared correctly. It is advisable to give clear instructions to the staff from the beginning.
- Room service left the door unlocked several times and sometimes forgot the cleaning. Once we found the key of room service stuck in the door. A safe in the room would be urgently needed. In addition, towels and glasses were not sufficiently clean, and the pool was cleaned only upon request.
- The bathroom in room 105 smelled unpleasant and had insufficient ventilation, which is why we stayed there only briefly.
- There are still many construction sites on the resort grounds and waste lay around, even near our bungalow and private pool. This could have been eliminated long ago, as staff were often idle.
- We hope that the wildlife housed in small enclosures will be released soon, as is the goal of the resort.
- The views and location of the resort are beautiful, the buildings well designed, and everything is within walking distance. The staff is friendly but very reserved. You often have to actively ask for service.
- ATVs and bicycles can be rented for free, which is a big plus. The tennis court also offers good sporting variety, although the adjacent gym was still under construction.
- Unfortunately, the staff does not always speak good English, which led to misunderstandings, especially with vegan menus. Clear communication is therefore important.
- A big plus is sustainability at the R esort with metal straws, glass bottles and eco-friendly packaging for takeaway breakfast, which was delicious.
