Up there vs Trox and Paradis!
Firstly the rooms and distance. We stayed on the first floor and near to the windy beach and blue bay lagoon side. It was a short walk to the beach and only 5 mins to walk to the buffet and reception/main bar, shops and entertainment. Rooms were lovely and with the usual requirements met in full, with bath and shower - only thing missing vs Trox was the outdoor shower!
Food wise, there is a good selection of restaurants and the food was really good. The buffet had a good selection, but we did find it a struggle in terms of service, when it was busy.
The main thing missing for me vs the other resorts, was the minimal selection of fresh fruits (morning) and sea food choices (lunches and evening) in the buffet.
Lunches were good and we tended to stay at Le Sirius during to proximity to our room and the beach/pool. The bar there also did burgers and chips, which the kids enjoyed!
The entertainment was really good, with something on each night and there was also pool activities (in the main pool, shout out to Johan and the team) which we enjoyed as a family. The service at the bars was good, with drinks always flowing, would advise getting to the bar early though, if you want a table and seats for the popular entertainment shows.
We did the fashion show and my daughter was treated like a princess by Lucinda, Raneet and Kristel (I’m sure spelling is wrong - all worked within the shop), they were amazing and one of the reasons we kept going back to buy more and more gifts and clothing!
The gym (weights) was good enough for anyone looking to train during their stay and you could play table tennis, as well as booking tennis too.
In terms of the pools, they were always clean and well kept. We only ever went on the blue bay beach, which was really nice and the best snorkelling location for a resort that we’ve been to so far. Managed to see some amazing marine life, including moray eels, puffer fish and turtles on most days! This is one of the main reasons I’m so happy to be going back!
